From the Paramount Prop Warehouse comes this Alien Apothecary type jar and lid from Star Trek. The glass jar stands approximately 17" tall with the lid and is approximately 5" in diameter. The lid appears to be cast metal and fits on the jar but it completely removable. The piece is still covered in and inside with dirt and debris from presumably the set. The jar has a decorative marking and symbol on it (double click on photo above to get larger image.
The piece also is marked in marker at the bottom of the jar with an "SR" number presumably for inventory.
It would make a fantastic conversation piece for your curio cabinet at home or on a large shelf of a bookcase.
